Evidence should be furnished that the person giving a Power of Attorney is the executor's next of kin or person entitled to administration, as the case may be.

Definite instructions as to the winding up of the estate and disposal of it should be sent out. No reason for

any difficulty arising in the winding up is apparent but the

deceased left a letter addressed to the Superintendent of

Police of which an extract reads as follows :

and

"There is a small black case containing letters,

photographs, gifts etc. which I wish to be returned

to Mr. Bird."

"If there should be any money left over after this is

done please pay $93.10 (Tientsin dollars) to H.A. Bird

which sum is due to him from the sale of his furniture

which he left with me in Tientsin. The remainder I

wish to be sent to my sister who will give it to my

mother."

Any instructions sent out should have definite reference to the

above referred to items.

I have not communicated in any way with relatives as this

had already been done when the estate came into my hands and I

assumed, in the circumstances, that the relatives would have

written out immediately they received the news and that any

communication would have reached Hong Kong before this on

this account I have been retaining the file since your minute

of 21st February, 1936.
